Companies in the U.K. are required by law to complete certain background checks on their prospective employees.


Based on the job role applied for, your employer will have to complete some checks such as a Criminal Record check or a U.K. Right to Work check, etc. 

This helps the employer have detailed information on their candidates in order to hire the most suitable person for the role.
