A candidate has the right to know what information has been gathered in the process of background screening and is presented in the final report.

With that in mind, they can dispute any information they believe is incorrect.

The candidate may request a full file disclosure by making a Subject Access Request to the organisation that requested the background check as they are the data controller, whereas Verifile is the data processor and cannot release this information directly to candidates.

The organisation holding the final report will then contact Verifile to discuss the results of the check you believe has incorrect information and, if necessary, we will rerun the check.

To find out more information about how we handle your data, please refer to our Verifile - privacy notice.
