• What’s in academic and professional qualification verifications?

Modified on Mon, 12 Aug at 11:39 AM

The client (your prospective employer) may request you to provide details of an academic or professional qualification to verify the information you present and validate any qualifications you may hold.

The difference between the two is that an academic qualification is based on a student’s knowledge and skills gained during their time at school/ college or university, whilst professional qualifications are awarded for specific jobs or industries, and they equip the students with the relevant knowledge and skills required for a profession.

Normally, for both academic and professional qualification verifications we would ask you to input the data of the institution onto your candidate portal such as its full name, address, website, contact details and the main details of study such as the course studied, dates of study, the qualifications you were awarded and your grade or classification.

Upon receiving the information, Verifile conducts its own independent research to contact the relevant department within the institute responsible for validating academic and professional qualifications.

The relevant institute may request some additional forms of your consent, such as filling out and presenting their own tailored bespoke consent forms or direct consent provided via phone or by email.

Please note that if you provide details for somebody you have known from the institute, such as a professor or a tutor, we may not reach out to those individuals, as we have our own established process in place.

The expected turnaround time may vary for each institution, and completion of the check depends on how long they take to complete their own verification process and grant the reference.
