This article will detail how to complete your ‘Digital ID check’ using the Yoti app on your mobile device.

This guide assumes that you are directed to complete the steps below from the candidate portal background screening form.

1. You’ll initially be asked to answer which documents you hold.

2. Once you’ve answered this, you’ll be directed to different pages depending on your answers:

Note: your Digital ID check may be cancelled if you do not hold any relevant documents, directing you to the rest of the online form. 

3. You’ll then be taken to a page that’ll detail the following steps:

4. You should scroll down until you see the blue ‘Start ID Verification button’.

5. Clicking the ‘Start ID Verification’ button will take you to a page on your browser that asks you to share your details. 

If you do not already have the Yoti app downloaded, this will direct you to your device’s app store to download.

If this is the case, please return to this page and click 'Share details' after you have downloaded the app. 

6. Once the Yoti app opens, click ‘Get Started’. 

7. Select ‘Share or import details now’, then ‘Continue’. 

Note: The instructions are interchangeable for the Post Office EasyID and Yoti apps.

8. Then click on the ‘Button or link’ option shown. 

‘Share details’ (shown in step 5) once again if you have not already been taken to the pages detailed in the following steps.

10. Click ‘Get started’ again, and follow the steps below. 

11. Now follow the steps to continue providing your consent, securing your account, and sharing the required documents.

The app will then ask you to follow the steps below:

12. Select your age and click confirm

13. Consent to the terms and conditions

14. Choose whether you wish for the app to track your activity across other websites

15. Provide a contact number

16. Create a PIN

17. Scan your face. 

18. After completing the above steps, click ‘Continue’ to proceed to the home page. 

19. You’ll be prompted to complete your ID document scans. Please ensure you have the relevant documents to hand before clicking ‘Get Started.’ 

20. Read any instructions and Select the issuing country for your passport and click on ‘Continue’ 

21. Click ‘Start Scan’ and scan your passport. Please see the picture below for guidance. 

22. Once you’ve scanned your passport, you’ll be asked to scan your passport chip as per below. you’ll

23. Yoti will then review your document and prompt you to add your address. 

24. Select the relevant address option, then locate your address. 

25. After the documents are scanned, review the information, and click ‘Continue’.

26. You will be prompted to send your details to Verifile and complete a face scan. 

27. Once you have successfully completed this, a pop-up will advise you to return to the Verifile site. 

28. Swap back to your browser app with the Verifile site open, and wait while your details transfer over.

29. Once you have completed this, click ‘Start Personal Details’ and proceed with the rest of the online form.
