This guide explains how to complete your Digital ID check using your PC/laptop for a UK Criminal Record Check and UK Right to Work check. 

You’ll use a PC or laptop for the Verifile form and your phone to scan a QR code using the Post Office EasyID or Yoti app. 

What You’ll Need 

• Verifile invite email 
• Access to the Verifile candidate portal 
• A smartphone with a camera 
• Post Office Easy ID or Yoti app installed 
• Valid ID documents (e.g. passport) 

The steps are the same for both apps. 

Why Are There Two Apps? 

Yoti and the Post Office work together to provide secure digital identity verification. 

Both apps offer the same service. 

How to complete your Digital ID check 

1. Access the Verifile Portal  

• Open the “Get started” link from your email 
• Sign in or create an account using your email 
• Once logged in, select "Start check", then Start screening form 

If you don’t hold the required documents, your Digital ID check may be cancelled and you’ll continue with the rest of the form instead. 

2. Start Digital ID in the form 

• When asked if you have a valid passport, select Yes 
• You’ll be shown a QR code to scan using your phone. Keep this page open as you’ll need it later. 

3. Set Up the App 

• Download Post Office EasyID or the Yoti app form your devices App Store and then open it 
• Select "Get Started" 
• Confirm you need to share verified details 
• Choose the QR code option and scan the QR code from the Verifile screen
  

4. Secure Your Account 

You’ll be asked to: 

• Enter your age 
• Add a contact number 
• Create a PIN 
• Scan your face (maximum 3 attempts) 

Once completed, you’ll be taken to the app home screen. 

5. Scan and Share Documents 

From the app: 

• Tap Scan and scan the QR code again shown on the Verifile form 
• Select your passport issuing country 
• Scan your passport 
• Upload any additional documents required 
• Provide your current address and review details and continue 

When prompted to continue, DO NOT select “Send details”. 

6. Final Share and returning to Verifile form 

• In the app, go to Share and scan the QR code again. 
• Return to your PC. 
• Refresh the Verifile page and continue completing the form. 

Important Notes 

• Make sure your documents are ready before starting scans. 
• If your documents have been stored in the app for a long time, you may be asked to re-scan your face. 
• Make sure you complete the final steps back in Verifile to avoid delays. 
• If you have been unsuccessful in transferring your information from the Digital ID app to Verifile, or you experienced any issues in the transfer process, please give us a call on 01234 339 300.
