• If my old address is on my Driving Licence, is it still a valid ID document?

All ID documents used must contain current and up-to-date information.

This means that we are unable to use a driving licence with a previous address listed on it for your background checks.

We are unable to consider your driving licence valid without the correct current address.

If your driving licence doesn't show your current address, you'll need to notify the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in order to have this updated, and select 'No' to holding a valid licence on the background screening form.

DVLA - Change the address on your driving licence - At the time of writing, it can take up to one week (and 4 weeks for postal changes) to receive your new driving licence.

We urge you to find alternative ID, or contact the client/institution who ordered your check.

If you've used the driving licence using our digital ID service, then the order must be cancelled by the client and a new check ordered by the requester.

We cannot amend the details once Digital ID is completed via YOTI or the Post Office EasyID apps.
