This article guides the reader on signing up to their individual candidate portal and logging in.

Invitation Email

You’ll receive an invitation email to begin the background screening process.

1. Please click the Get Started button when you are ready to begin.

You’ll note a unique reference number is included. If you need to contact us, please include this in any correspondence.

You are free to use any of the sign-up options shown above, or use your own unique email address. By signing up, you agree to the terms of use and Verifile’s Terms and Privacy Policy.

Password

Please pay particular attention to the rules around a good password as shown in the green section

Please be aware this is for pre-submission queries only, and post-submission requests should be directed to the Candidate Team email address, [email protected].

Choosing an option to sign up

5. Having chosen your sign-up option, follow the prompts to sign up. Here, we've opted to Sign up with Apple using the Social Sign On option listed.

Once selected, you'll be taken to the email provider's website to continue.

6. You’ll be prompted to enter your AppleID email address.

Passkey

Once you have done so, the website will ask you to enter your current password or to sign in with Passkey, the newest and secure way to log in.

If you have any doubts about the authenticity of a website, you can check the padlock usually shown at the end of the address (URL) bar. Clicking this will display that the connection is secure and trusted. As always, use your own judgement to ensure your safety and security.

Two-factor authentication / Multi-factor authentication

7. Passkey will display a QR code to scan with your phone to continue, whereas using the password option will prompt you to enter your password and prove you are who you say you are via other authentication methods such as Two-factor authentication.

8. Apple gives the option to share your email or hide it. We recommend you share it, as this is used to keep you informed. We will not use your email address for any other purpose other than to contact you about your background screening.

9. When signing in, please enter your email address in the box provided once again. This will then take you to the 'sign in' page, where you'll see the option you chose to sign up with. 

If you chose to continue with your email, you’ll be prompted to enter a short numerical code, usually sent to you via SMS or to your email address.

Change a password

9. Once logged in to your candidate portal with your own email address you can change your password or email address at any time via Account Management.

Social Sign On email address changes

10. If you've used one of the pre-defined Social Sign On options, you can only change the email address via Account Management. To change a Social Sign On email provider’s password, you’ll need to complete this via their website.
 

Signing up and logging is similar for all the Social Sign On options available.
