• Where can I get fingerprints taken for my criminal record check?

Modified on Fri, 9 Aug at 1:57 PM

Some international criminal record checks require you to provide us with your fingerprints.

You'll be required to book an appointment with someone who is qualified to take fingerprints, such as a police officer or an approved third-party provider.

Before leaving your fingerprint appointment, we'd advise that you check the quality of the fingerprints, as poor-quality prints, photocopies and printed copies will not be accepted.

If you live in the United Kingdom, you can make an appointment with your local police station, or with the metropolitan police in London. If you live outside of the United Kingdom, you can still contact your local police station to see if this is a service they offer.

Candidates both inside and outside of the United Kingdom also have the option of using a commercial fingerprinting service—our best advice for this would be to search online for fingerprinting services near you.
