Driving Licence (DVA Northern Ireland)

Please note: This check is for candidates who hold a DVA issued driving licence and those who don’t.

This check establishes if an individual holds a valid driving license and what vehicles they entitled to drive according to the Northern Ireland Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA). We'll also check for any endorsements and disqualifications on their licence. Expected turnaround time is 5-15 working days.

Instructions

Please fill in a mandate form and return it to Verifile.

• Mandate for release of driver licensing information.

• The form must be printed before filling in; you should not fill in the form electronically.

• Please fill in using BLOCK CAPITALS and fill in carefully and accurately.

• Fill in section 2 with the name of the organisation that requested this check. If you have an employee number, payroll number or similar, please also provide this.

• Fill in section 3 with your personal information, including your driver number exactly as it appears on your DVA issued driving licence. If you don’t have a DVA issued driving licence, please don’t fill in a driver number.

• Fill in section 4 with your current address.

• Fill in section 5 with your name and address exactly as it appears on your driving licence (only if different to the personal information already provided).

• Please sign and date the mandate. Your signature must match the signature on your licence.

Please note: Mandates for the Release of Driver Licensing Information are required to obtain information, on behalf of a third party, relating to authorisation to drive a motor vehicle in Northern Ireland in respect, of a Northern Ireland driving licence holder.

Driver record data may only be released to third parties with the expressed consent of the Northern Ireland driving licence holder.

The mandate will have a validity of no more than three years from the date of the licence holder’s signature, unless the authorisation to release driving record data is revoked by the licence holder.

Returning the mandate to Verifile

• Please scan or take a clear photograph of the authority form. We recommend turning off the flash if taking a photograph. All personal information on the copy needs to be easily read and the barcode must be clear and intact.

• If you previously filled in a screening form to provide other information needed for your background check, please return by securely uploading the scan or photograph to the candidate portal. Or you can email to service@verifile.co.uk.

What happens after returning the documents?

Results are usually provided to Verifile 5-15 working days after your mandate was received by Verifile.
