• What are employment history checks?

Your prospective employer may request that we carry out an Employment History check.

If this is the case, they'll ask you to provide us with the details of your previous employers.

You'll do this by filling out your candidate portal.

The form includes the name of the employer and its address, your dates of employment and the positions you held. Please provide as much relevant information as possible, such as the website or telephone number for this business - this'll help ensure that we reach out to the correct company for a reference.

Once you submit your data on your Candidate Portal, we'll then verify the information you have provided by contacting the employer.

The information we request from them includes confirmation of your employment dates and the positions you held, or whether you were the subject of disciplinary action.

When reaching out to the previous employer, we'll conduct our own research and usually contact either the HR or the Payroll department (or the individual responsible for providing employee references). If you have provided us with contact details for your manager or another member of staff, please note that this likely will not be who we reach out to. Instead, we'll use this information to further our research.

Any additional information we request from your previous employer may vary according to the needs of the organisation that requested your checks.
